Smoking and Non Smoking
All our rooms are non-smoking and the detectors are quite sensitive. If you set the alarms off by smoking, you will not be popular with the fire brigade and with other guests. Please read the non smoking notice in the room.
In the restaurant and bar we have non-smoking and smoking eating areas and the bar is a smoking area.
Our guests are usually happy to enjoy the comfortable seats by the fireplace in the bar. If you would like to lounge in a smoke free atmosphere, please ask if the Snug is free for you to use.

We appreciate it if you can advise a likely checking in time when you book and if the reception is closed, simply call at the Bar. If you need to check in after the pub and restaurant have closed for the night, you will need to make a prior arrangement with the receptionist or manager and you will be given the front door Key Code for the day and you will be advised where to collect your room key. If you anticipate a late check-in and require food, we can arrange for a cold plate meal to be left for you in your room. Your normal tea and coffee facilities will be provided . If you would like additional drinks, Champagne, Spirits etc, simply request them in advance.
We only accept certain credit and debit cards and unless you have an account opened, we charge the room to your card on booking. If you want to leave before your bill is totalled we will process your card for the amount payable plus any meals, drinks, extras etc that you have consumed. We can either give you your itemised bill or receipt as you leave or we can post it to a specified address.
Check out time is normally 11.00am on the day of departure. If you would like to check out later, please ask. If you would like to leave luggage to collect later – that can be arranged too.
Unlike some establishments, we never overbook to compensate for “no shows”. When you or your office calls to confirm a reservation we will charge the cost of the room to the designated credit card. Unless a cancellation is made within an agreed period, (usually 48 hours) your booking is firm and you will not be disappointed.
If your company has an account, you will be given an account number and password. If your company would like an account, please speak to the manager and we will contact your company to make the arrangements. Charges cannot be set against an account until it is properly opened.
